Sometimes I swear we want life to hand us a little instruction manual that says, “Don’t worry, Laura. Here is exactly what happens next.” 😂

Unfortunately, mine seems to have gotten lost in the mail.

And maybe yours did too.

But lately, I’ve been realizing that maybe we don’t actually need to know everything that happens next.

Maybe we need to get a little better at trusting ourselves when we don’t know.

We look ten steps ahead and try to prepare ourselves for every possible outcome.

And somewhere in all of that, we can forget that we’re allowed to simply live.

You are going to make decisions without knowing exactly how they’ll turn out.

You’re going to trust people.

You’re going to change your mind.

You’re going to outgrow things you once thought you wanted forever.

Some people will surprise you by staying.

Others may surprise you by leaving.

And there will be moments when life takes a completely different turn than the one you had planned.

That doesn’t mean you failed.

It means you’re living a life you cannot completely predict—and maybe you were never supposed to.

So if there’s something you’ve been trying desperately to figure out lately, maybe you don’t need the entire answer tonight.

Maybe you just need to ask yourself:

What feels right for me now?

Not forever.

Not six months from now.

Not after you’ve considered every possible outcome.

Right now.

Listen to yourself.
